FALL-WINTER PROGRAM SCHEDULE 2010-2011

 

            Beginning this October, Carousel House will be offering some very exciting and fun programs that may be beneficial to all of the disabled community ages 16 and older.

 

Stuart Greenberg Special Populations Basketball League

 

            League will be held on Monday evenings beginning October 18, 2010 and concluding February 28th.  All participants must be at least 16 years of age or older. All participants must have an understanding of basketball.  There is no fee for the program and all participants are provided a uniform, a trip to a Big Five basketball game, and an end of the season banquet. The program runs from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. There are limited slots available. (A waiting list will be established – new participants will be called if space becomes available.)

 

Ceramics

 

                Ceramic classes will be held on Mondays from 7:00 – 8:00 PM starting Monday October 18, 2010 and will conclude in late May. The fee for the entire program is $300.00 per person (supplies included).  Class size is limited to 12.

 

Music Lessons

 

            Tuesday evenings bring the beautiful sounds of music and singing to Carousel House.  Through the Kardon Institute of the Arts, we are able to offer superior lessons in singing and rhythm instruments. The program will be held on Tuesdays from 7-8 PM and will begin October 12, 2010 and end in late May. The fee for music lessons will be $100.00 per person. Class size is limited to 16.

 

Arts & Crafts Classes

 

            Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 7-8 PM beginning October 13, 2010 at 7:00 PM and will conclude in late May.  The fee for the entire program will be $150.00 per person (supplies included).  Class size is limited to 25 students.

 

Thursday Nite At The Movies

 

            This program features recent hit movies. The movie will start every Thursday at 7:00 PM and will end between 8:30 and 9:00 PM. A nominal fee of  $1.00 is charged per person and includes a hot dog, popcorn and drink. Staff must pay also. Movie Nite begins Thursday, September 30, 2010 – NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED.       

 

Aquatics

 

            The Carousel House aquatics department offers programs for individuals, groups, and schools.  Please call 215.685.0160 for details.

             Prior to using the pool, all participants must have Carousel House’s medical form filled out and signed by a physician. (The form is available at our website: www.carouselhousepa.com)

 

 

Exercise Room

 

Available to all people with disabilities, ages 16 and over. All universal type equipment is wheelchair accessible. Other equipment includes free weights, rowing machine, exercise bike and stair climber. A medical release  is needed for use of the exercise room. Yearly membership is $15.00
